賀!!楊俊毓教授自110年8月30日起擔任高雄醫學大學第九屆校長

高雄醫學大學董事會於5月21日公告,楊俊毓教授已獲教育部核定,擔任高雄醫學大學第九任校長,任期自110.8.30至113.6.30止。 楊教授為本院環醫所合聘研究員,配合環醫所的目標 – 空氣污染對國人健康之衝擊,致力於空氣品質對於健康影響的流行病學研究,以健保資料庫進行分析,搭配空品測站資料,探討長期暴露於懸浮微粒對於國人重大疾病的影響。

陳保中所長第二度獲得科技部傑出研究獎! 陳所長分別於2016年與2021年獲得科技部傑出研究獎,其專長領域為公共衛生與環境醫學。本院有幸於2020年延攬並借調陳保中特聘教授擔任國家環境醫學研究所所長,期在陳所長的帶領下,帶領我國環境醫學研究邁向全然不同的視野,為我國公共衛生與職業醫學開創新頁面。

[ NIEHS Special Lecture ] PM2.5的來源、暴露及健康風險

本次演講將從改善公共衛生的角度介紹兩種識別PM2.5來源並評估其對健康風險影響的方法。 (1) 受體建模:將結合使用各種模型在臺灣識別出的 PM2.5 來源比例概念。 還將討論其在健康風險評估中的應用。 (2) 土地利用迴歸:通過分析從地理信息系統中提取的空氣監測數據和環境變量,可以識別影響PM2.5分佈的來源。 將介紹結合衛星數據和機器學習技術的最新進展。

Integrated analysis of source-specific risks for PM2.5-bound metals in urban, suburban, rural, and industrial areas
We found that the concentrations of Fe, Zn, V, Cu, and Mn (industry-related metals) were higher at the industrial site (Kaohsiung) and Ba, Cr, Ni, Mo, and Co (traffic-related metals) were higher at the urban site (Taipei). The rural site (Hualian) had good air quality, with low PM2.5 and metal concentrations. Most metal concentrations were higher during the cold season for all study sites, except for the rural.

Indium tin oxide exposure poses a potential health risk, but the exposure assessment in occupational setting remains incomplete and continues to be a significant challenge. The varying levels of relationship noted between indium exposure and the levels of P–In and U–In among workers with different work types suggested that setting the exposure limits among different work types is warranted.

In 2018, bladder and kidney cancers were the 14th and 17th leading causes of global cancer mortality, respectively. Our aim was to investigate the association between arsenic exposure, DNA damage, and the incidence of bladder and kidney cancers.

The results of the present work provide evidence that living near petrochemical industrial parks (PIPs) during pregnancy would increase the risk of premature rupture of membranes (PROM), and additional studies are warranted to confirm our findings.

These results provided evidence that exposure to nano-TiO2, nano-SiO2, and CNTs may lead to lipid peroxidation in EBC. For routine biomonitoring purposes, this finding, which came through non-invasive methods, may be useful for workers exposed to nanomaterials (NMs).

Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor is Essential in the Control of Lung Club Cell Homeostasis
Club cells play an important role in maintaining lung homeostasis and aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is known to be important in xenobiotic metabolism, but its role in regulating club cells is currently unknown. Under the condition of pulmonary inflammation, AhR is critical in controlling lung club cell homeostasis via targeting Notch1 signaling and the generation of anti-inflammatory mediators.
